Frequently Asked Questions

May I sit back and watch a session?

   Yes, visitors are always welcome.

Will I need my own set of bogu gear?

Eventually, yes.  Kendo cannot be fully practiced without the protective bogu gear.  Costs range from $200 all the way up to $2,000+, depending on the materials used, and whether bogu is handmade or machine-made.

Do I need to be in a good physical condition?

We have practitioners of different physical conditions.  Endurance is ideal in Kendo as it is an intense aerobic martial art that involve footwork, shinai & subarito use, and overall body movement.
